I have been working with dyslexic children for over a decade and have recently moved to beautiful Revelstoke, British Columbia.  I received my BA in English and Elementary Education at the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado and I earned my Masters in Education, specifically Instruction and Curriculum with an emphasis on dyslexia, at Montana State University.  I have training in the Wilson Reading Program, which is an Orton Gillingham based program that is multi-sensory, as students learn through active verbal and physical participation.  Other language-based strategies are utilized in my practice, based upon the individual needs of the child.  I am a member of the International Dyslexia Association and Learning Disabilities Association.

My four children and husband are my inspiration for my practice.  Two of my children and my husband are visually gifted and often struggle with reading and school.  I have learned much from their talents, as well as their difficulties; mostly that they are truly exceptional individuals that can make such a difference in our world.
